Frequently asked questions
What is the lateral flow (LF) method?
Lateral flow (LF) tests , also known as lateral flow immuno-chromatographic (IC) assays , are simple medical devices intended to detect the presence (or absence) of a specific target indicator in a sample (matrix) without the need for specialized and costly equipment. LF tests are widely used for medical diagnostics at doctor offices, clinics, for home testing or even for laboratory use.
What are Immo-Cromatographic (IC) tests?
This is just another term for lateral flow tests.
Are the methods safe?
LF tests are globally recognized as diagnostics method in the medical community. The LF tests compare themselves (normally) with so-called reference methods used in laboratories. Check your products accuracy before purchasing a self-test product.
